As she stepped out at the Princess of Wales’s annual Christmas carol service on Friday, royal fans couldn’t help but notice how much Princess Charlotte resembled her late grandmother Princess Diana – especially with her near-identical “iconic side-eye”.
Taking to social media, fans dicussed the young royal’s resemblance to Prince William’s mother in the comment section of a latest post on the @royal.monarchies’s Instagram account.
Gearing up for a night of festive fun, the Prince and Princess of Wales’s only daughter arrived alongside her two brothers, Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, six, and their dad.
In a side-by-side post displaying their similar “iconic side-eye”, Charlotte can be seen looking serious with pursed lips and glaring eyes. Diana, who died aged 36 in 1997, can be seen looking sternly in the direction of the photographer.
In the comment section, one fan commented: “Aw those eyes are the same for Diana and Charlotte”.
Speaking of the pair’s similar look, another fan commented: “The iconic side-eye!”
Despite many commenting how much Charlotte looked like her late grandmother, some fans disagreed. One fan even pointed out how much the young royal looked like her maternal grandfather – especially from his side profile.
They wrote: “If you look at Michael Middleton’s profile, you can see Princess Charlotte.”
Another typical comparison for Charlotte is her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. One fan commented: “She looks like her great grandmother the Queen Elizabeth.”
During the festive evening, Charlotte was given a sweet surprise of getting to see the ballet dancers who performed on Friday evening.
Speaking to singer Paloma Faith, who also performed at the carol service, Princess Kate said that her youngest son even kept the secret from his sister.
The mother-of-three said Louis had known about the surprise, telling Paloma: “He has kept the secret for, what, nearly two weeks now.”
HELLO! reported that Charlotte’s eyes were a picture as the special part of the show was revealed.
