It goes without saying that Kate Middleton is in seriously good shape. Given the fact that she has three young children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — it’s pretty amazing that the Duchess of Cambridge is able to stay so strong and fit. Even more impressive? That the mom of three maintains her fitness routine without a personal trainer. In fact, according to one report, Kate’s diet and exercise routine is seriously no-frills.
According to The Daily Mail, the duchess’s workout is as easy as can be and can be done anywhere. Her exercise of choice? Running! Additionally, Kate lifts weights at home when she can.
When the duchess is at her country home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, she always finds time to go for a jog. The source said: “Kate finds the time to run as often as possible when in Norfolk.”
Another exercise Kate is a fan of: The plank, which helps strengthen her abs.
“It tightens her stomach muscles,” a source told The Daily Mail. “There are three elements, the basic plank, the side plank and the prone sky dive, all of which are positions Kate can hold for 45 seconds or longer and repeat at least 10 times each.”
Additionally, Kate is said to use a Swiss gym ball, which is a large inflated ball that helps strengthen her core.
And Kate isn’t the only Middleton who’s into physical fitness. “Kate is an exercise junkie,” a source said. “Pippa and Kate take their toned physiques extremely seriously. And mother Carole, in her 60s, is in extremely good shape.”
Supplementing Kate’s exercise regimen is, not surprisingly, a healthy diet.
In addition to eating a daily breakfast of “berries and porridge,” Kate generally cooks most of the family’s meals. Kate also sometimes follows the Dukan Diet, a French meal plan, which focuses on eating a lot of protein in the first “stage,” and then incorporating veggies and other carbs later on.
Whatever the sporty duchess is doing, she should keep it up.
Not only does she look strong, happy, and healthy, she’s got more than enough energy to chase after her three kiddos.
