Prince William Confirms Upcoming Royal Visit, Potential Appearance by Prince George

The Prince of Wales will attend the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United

Prince William, President of The Football Association, will attend the 2024 Emirates FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.

He will present the trophy to the winners after the match.

The Prince of Wales has brought his eldest son Prince George, 10, to football games in the past so it is possible that father and son may appear.

George last joined his father at a football game on Friday April 12, where they watched Aston Villa play Lille in the first leg of the Europa Conference League quarter-final.

The youngster wore a Villa-branded scarf as the pair applauded and smiled as their team secured a 2-1 victory.

As a long-term football fan William has previously taken George to matches, including a Villa game in 2019 and to watch England reach the quarter-finals of the Euros 2020, after defeating Germany 2-0.

His appearance is likely to be one of only a handful made by the Royal Family in the coming weeks, after the monarchy postponed engagements after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced a snap General Election for July 4.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “Following the Prime Minister’s statement this afternoon calling a general election, the royal family will – in accordance with normal procedure – postpone engagements that may appear to divert attention or distract from the election campaign.

“Their Majesties send their sincere apologies to any of those who may be affected as a result.”
